About the Comox Valley

The Comox Valley is located halfway up the east coast of Vancouver Island, only 30 minutes by air from Metro Vancouver and a 3.5- 4 hour drive from Victoria, on the southern tip of Vancouver Island. The region's diverse economy spans agriculture, tourism, construction, and service industries with a growing sector in post secondary education.

Known as the "Recreational Capital of Canada", the Comox Valley offers fun, adventure and interest to all ages.  In the winter, skiing at Mt. Washington is just 30 minutes away. There's sailing and kayaking, a variety of golf courses, and even the Comox Valley Cultural Centre for theatre, museum and an art gallery. Avid fishermen will enjoy coho fishing in the Gulf of Georgia and the surrounding well-stocked lakes. There are many parks and mountains to explore, most notably Strathcona Provincial Park, with over 250,000 hectares of rugged mountain wilderness.

Whether you enjoy gardening, biking, nature photography, horseback riding, or motorcycle riding, the temperate climate and outdoor recreation amenities offer something for everyone.

And, don't forget the eclectic Vancouver Island FolkFest, held in the Comox Valley every summer since 1995!

If you do feel the need to get away, the Comox International Airport is here to serve you with an ever-growing number of flights and destinations, including direct flights to Mexico and Las Vegas.
